Surface features of the sulphuric acid treated and untreated PET filaments, drawn at different draw ratios, have been studied through XPS(ESCA) and SEM. It is shown that the top surface of the polyethylene terephthalate fibres degrades, but the increase in draw ratio decreases the degradation.
